Warning: Filing without a NAC

You’ll see the following warning message in H&R Block’s tax software if you try to file your return without entering your NETFILE Access Code (NAC):

Are you sure you want to file your tax return without entering your Access code? If you do not enter your Access code, you will not be able to use information from your 2021 tax return when confirming your identity with the CRA. [warning]

How do I fix this?

To clear this warning, you can enter your NAC in the NETFILE Access Code field on the Your personal information page. You can find this page on the GET STARTED tab, under the ABOUT YOU icon.

Note: If you’re preparing your return with your spouse or common-law partner, you can enter their NAC in the NETFILE Access Code field on the Your spouse’s personal information page that’s under the ABOUT YOUR SPOUSE icon on the GET STARTED tab.

Remember, the NAC is optional and isn’t required to NETFILE your return. For information on the NAC, refer to this help article: What is the NETFILE Access Code (NAC)?
